Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers about membership, insurance, and how DPC works
What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a membership-based approach to healthcare that gives you direct access to your provider without copays, rushed visits, or surprise bills. Members pay a simple monthly fee for ongoing primary care services and easier access to care.
What’s included in a CuraDirect DPC membership?
Membership includes comprehensive primary care services such as wellness visits, sick visits, chronic disease management, preventive care, telehealth, care coordination, weight management support, and direct communication with your provider. Members also receive expanded visit times and easier access to care.
What services are NOT included in membership?
Hospital care, specialist visits, surgeries, advanced imaging, emergency room visits, vaccinations, and outside laboratory or pathology fees are not included in the monthly membership fee.
What conditions do you treat?
We treat a wide range of primary care concerns including:
– Acute illnesses and infections
– Preventive care
– High blood pressure
– Diabetes
– Asthma
– Weight management
– Women’s health
– Mental health support
– Hormone replacement therapy
– Minor injuries and procedures
Do you offer telehealth visits?
Yes. Telehealth appointments are available for many routine concerns, follow-up appointments, medication management, and ongoing care.
Can I contact my provider between visits?
Yes. Members have direct communication access by text, email, or phone.
After hours, urgent matters are prioritized, and non-urgent messages are typically addressed the next business day.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
New patients can usually schedule their initial intake visit within 1–2 weeks of signing up. This first visit allows us to establish care, review your health history, and get to know your healthcare goals. After becoming established, members typically have access to routine appointments as needed, with same-day or next-day availability for many acute concerns.
Is there a contract or long-term commitment?
No long-term contracts.
Membership is month-to-month and can be canceled at any time.
CuraDirect Healthcare uses a simple membership agreement that explains services, monthly billing, and office policies.
If you’d like to review the fine print, you can request a copy of the ‘Direct Patient Agreement’ anytime by contacting us.
How does payment work?
Membership is a simple monthly fee that is automatically billed to your card on file. There are no copays or surprise bills.
Is Direct Primary Care health insurance?
No. Direct Primary Care is not health insurance. It is a membership for your primary care needs, focused on easy access to your provider, longer visits, and ongoing care without insurance billing.
How does insurance work with CuraDirect?
CuraDirect Healthcare does not bill insurance for membership services. Care is provided through a simple monthly membership that covers your primary care needs directly.
Many patients choose to pair their membership with traditional insurance and/or other coverage options for added protection. Common options include high-deductible health plans, catastrophic plans, short-term medical plans (where available), hospital or accident indemnity plans, or health sharing programs. These can help cover services outside the clinic such as hospital care, emergencies, imaging, or specialist visits.
Can I still use my insurance?
Yes. You can still use insurance for care outside of CuraDirect, including specialist visits, hospital care, imaging, prescriptions, and emergency services.
Do you take insurance?
CuraDirect Healthcare does not bill insurance for membership services. This allows us to focus our work on patient care. Care is provided through a simple monthly membership with direct access to your provider, without copays or insurance billing.
Are lab tests included in membership?
Some basic in-office tests may be included during visits, such as rapid strep, urinalysis, and glucose testing.
Other lab work or send-out testing is not included in membership.
– If you have insurance, labs are typically billed to your insurance directly by the laboratory.
– If you are self-pay, affordable discounted pricing is available. We review costs with you before ordering any labs so there are no surprises.
